Life in Nicaragua[]
Robert Amadeus "Acorn" Rutherford was born as Armando Salazar Pashova on February 24, 1977. Armando's father was killed 3 months before his birth in a fight in the Nicaraguan Revolution. Armando's mother turned to prostitution in order to feed Armando, leading Armando to be bullied relentlessly at school. The price of food was too high for Armando's mother to afford, leading to Armando eating acorns from the white oak trees around his house. This caused him to get sick constantly and led to more bullying. Armando eventually stopped going to school all together at the age of 8.
Armando spent most of his time at home, reading was little he could get his hands on and wandering around his neighborhood. Armando developed a habit of grabbing things from windows that were left unattended. He eventually learned that he could go into unattended houses and take little things. Armando would become a thief and pickpocket, only being caught and beaten a few times in his short career.
In 1987, Armando's mother's manager became much more violent. Armando's mother feared for their lives and moved them both to Managua. Armando quickly became entrenched in the gang life there, stealing from both sides of the Contra War and giving a cut to his superiors. Armando would steal things for many different rings, but mainly stuck with the Falsificado gang where he would meet his life long partner Roberto Lopez. Armando and Roberto quickly became disillusioned with the world and apathetic to their fellow man.
In 1989, Armando's mother was killed by a soldier after asking for payment. In retaliation the Falsificado gang, who deeply cared for Armando at this point, burnt a government building and killed the soldier in a public beating. The government, in turn, rounded up most of the Falsificado gang and had them imprisoned or executed. Seeing the writing on the wall Armando and Roberto fled into rural Nicaragua.
In 1990, Armando and Roberto joined the Contras during their last few months of funding. Armando and Roberto both killed for their first time in a raid on a village. Armando shot a man in his house while Roberto was made to set up field on fire that go out of control and spread to houses. The Contras disbanded shortly there after, leaving Armando and Roberto to join one of the many splinter groups left over. They decided to head to Esteli and the leader, Norvin Perez, formed another gang.
Armando and Roberto spent 1990 to 1998 in Esteli working for the Perez gang. They were both put in charge of smuggling heroin through the jungle and across the border into Honduras. They slowly began entrenching themselves in the Honduran drug trade as independent players, skimming a little off the top of Perez and selling it on their own.
Armando in particular became more violent in the period. The old Contra men taught him everything they knew about weapons and combat. Anyone that crossed Armando was left with a stab wound or a bullet hole, usually fatal. After a son came back for revenge Armando learnt it was better to finish the males in a family when working. Due to his affection for his late mother Armando had a soft spot for females, not allowing them to be hurt when he was around without good reason.
Armando and Roberto were essential to the Perez gang was smugglers and enforcers until 1998. That is when Armando discovered that Norvin Perez had started forcing women from nearby villages to become prostitutes to pay of their husbands debts. Enraged, Armando shot Norvin in the neck while he was high on his own supply. Armando promptly gather all of Norvin's documents and valuables and skipped town with Roberto.
Life in Belize[]
Armando and Roberto made their way into Honduras, but it was only a matter of time before associates of Perez began making calls. The men slowly made their way across Honduras, living off of Perez's money until they reached Comayaqua. On the outskirts of town Armando stabbed a father and son to death for their truck and money before driving to San Pedro Sula. Armando repeated the process to two more families until making it across the border into Belize.
Armando and Roberto reached Belize City in late 1998. After threatening a document forger with extreme violence the pair had fake papers and enlisted in the Belize Defense Force. Both shined in basic training, and Armando's blatant knack for violence and lack of remorse got the attention of important people. Armando and Roberto were transferred to the Belize Secret Service, a short lived and small agency that handled the private security matters of the nation.
Armando and Roberto were assigned to take out both domestic and foreign targets with extreme prejudice. Armando especially shined in striking fear in locals with his public displays of violence. For instance, Armando was assigned to kill a prominent drug lord in Southern Belize along with anyone in his residence. Armando silently took out all the males in the house and set a fire that drove out all the girls. When the girls got outside they saw the gangster with a Colombian Necktie hanging from a tree. The government spun all of Armando's domestic targets as the work of a foreign serial killer dubbed "The Black Butcher of Belize".
Armando and Roberto served in the Secret Service until 2009. Roberto was sent to Iraq to eliminate a target, but the assignment went wrong, leading to Roberto being involved in the destruction of a school. Roberto came back an empty man and asked Armando to kill him. Armando obliged, killing and burying Roberto on his favorite hill. Armando quickly faked his own death and fled into Mexico. Having amassed a sizable fortune and numerous criminal connections, Armando was able to integrate himself into Jalpan De Serra.
Death and Resurrection[]
Armando lived in Jalpan De Serra as a wealthy recluse until 2017. One faithful day, by complete happenstance, one of Armando's old managers from Belize spotted him buying groceries while on vacation. The manager informed Belize of Armando's presence before being shot by Armando following a chase into the countryside. Armando gathered all of his things and set off towards America. On the way many members of the Belize Secret Service cut him off, but he swiftly dealt with most teams. However, near Nacozari de Garcia a team of twenty cut Armando off in a surprise attack. Armando managed to kill them by blowing up his car on them, but he was shot in a leg and shoulder.
Unable to rest at a hospital for long enough to recover Armando stole another car and drove across the unprotected border into rural Arizona. He continued to drive until he could use his few connections to get a new identity for America and remain hidden. Armando became Robert Amadeus Rutherford and was determined to stay hidden and out of the criminal world. The Belize government let the FBI know that the "Black Butcher of Belize" was most likely in their country and they wanted him back for execution. In reality, they wanted Robert back to turn him into a super soldier. Turns out that the United States Government had the same idea.
Robert was found by the FBI within the year, despite his best efforts. He managed to take out fifteen agents before getting taken down, mainly caused by his untreated wounds. Robert was shot through the leg, then the kidney, then the neck before bleeding to death in his motel room. Robert's body was collected and shipped of the an experimental facility in the heart of New Mexico. The lab there infused Robert's body with the DNA of multiple plant species, granting his inhuman abilities.
Robert was kept in this facility and experimented on until 2022 where he was transported to a fake town in the middle of Arizona code-named Dirt. The town was built to see if the experiments from the lab could coexist with other entities, which was largely a success that caused a lot of wacky antics. Robert was one of the only experiments to retain his memory, but didn't show that. He was young and able to live in moderate peace in a new small town, even though he kept his same anti-social personality. Robert now lives in Dirt where he wishes to stay until he shrivels and dies.
