James: Well, that's an oddly specific metaphor, considering that’s exactly what you are!
Maxmillian "Max" is the Deuteragonist of Oddballs. He is a failed genetic experiment gifted with human intelligence and voice. He is a friend of James and Echo.
Appearance
Body
Max is a crocodile with a lighter-skinned belly, sharp teeth, and scales on his back and tail. He also has claws and two eyes .
Personality
While he acts like a normal human, sometimes his crocodile-like instincts are trigged by emotions, making him act like a normal crocodile.
Background
Max is a failed experiment created by scientists Greg and Liv to be experimented on. He'd grow up to live with his "parents" and Jenna, his “sister”. His best friend is James in Dirt, Arizona. James somehow doesn’t find that he is a sentient crocodile weird. His "parents" are crazy and run experiments on him.
Relationships
Max is James’ best friend. They are often really good friends with each other and get along pretty well. Max can also be rather protective of James, as seen in the first episode, when he puts a chip into their toaster and it starts smoking, he huddles James in a very protective manner. However, Max and James can hurt each other’s feelings out of anger, but they never really mean it, and become best friends again.
Echo
A time-traveling, apocalypse surviving, hungry female rebel. She lives in a time where processed food was not part of the timeline all thanks to Professor Dumas and evil Toasty.
